Multiple issues plague Digital Level Up CS2 tournament
What started out as India's first big CS2 event, Digital Level Up has not exactly been ideal so far based on what the players have spoken up about.
Bhavi shared his campaign experience with Dust2 India, pointing out a few concerning mishaps in the tournament.
"The first game we played private (CS2's inbuilt private matchmaking) because of an apparent server issue and in our second game, they weren't able to launch Mirage so they had Dust2 in the veto and we were asked to 'think of it as Mirage' and play. Everyone though banned it on the veto immediately"

Dust2 India's tournament admin took to X, reflecting upon a few other major issues with the tournament including the absence of anti-cheat and pointed out that dedicated servers were not used until players complained about it.
I think we were one of the lucky teams, as we didn't really face any issues in the matches we played. But there were a few teams talking about anti-cheat issues, and even a couple teams which said that they had to self host the servers without any admin present, though idk how much of the latter is true

Players also confirmed an incident where the admins were not able to run Mirage and came up with the solution of dropping Mirage from the map pool and adding Dust 2 instead. After the players fought for their right to play Mirage, the change was reverted.
With the semi-finals set to take place later today and the LAN finals on 22nd October 2023, the event still lacks a bit of transparency. More updates shall follow as and when they are received, stay tuned.
