Rossi on Gods Reign: "I don't think they are at their peak"
After their dominant showing to kick off Dreamhack Hyderabad, we got a chance to talk to Rossi from Marcos Gaming about the team's form. Here is what he had to say.
Earlier today you told Dust2 India you had a point to prove and I think you have shown us your potential with you potential today. How does it feel?
It feels great. We literally dominated them. Even though there were a lot of technical issues and everything, we didn't lose control of ourself. We just wanted to play our game. Before these guys (Marcos Gaming) used to think, 'let's end it 13-3 or 13-5'. I started telling them to go round by round. There is no harm in wanting to go slow. I taught them and it worked out very well.
Marcos Gaming were already a pretty aggressive team and now you have come to the lineup with your own aggression. How are you gelling into the team?
Probably my thing in the game is to make sure they are calm enough. And to make sure I am helping them with decisions. In mid-rounds, I help out DEFAULTER. Even after the round ends, I tell DEFAULTER that this was the strategy they executed and what they might do next round. So we can expect the same again and then the same smokes and molly come in. So I try to analyze the opponents while playing my own game.
Well, it's obvious that Gods Reign are the best team in India right now. With your current form, how well do you think are you going to play against them?
Personally speaking, I defeated them at Jio games. So I don't think they are at their peak. They were good at CSGO, at but at CS2 they are struggling yet. Maybe individual form lacking or team decisions lacking. Every team has their issues since CS2 is completely new. So I don't think they are the best competitors but they are yet 100% top 3.
If you liked what you saw from Marcos Gaming, we have more action coming your way today! They will play Team Respect later today in two BO1s.
