VERTEX go down to Rooster
The second upper bracket semi-final of the ESL Australia & NZ Championship S17 saw VERTEX take on Rooster in the BO3 game.
First up was VERTEX's pick of Nuke but it was Rooster who seemed more comfortable on the map. Rooster's defensive half was stellar, as they took a 9-3 lead and they just dropped one round in the second half to close out the map at 13-4.
On Rooster's pick of Overpass as it was VERTEX this time starting with the advantage and a 8-4 lead. VERTEX started with the pistol and then converted against the force and eco to go 10-4 up. Rooster got on board once they got their full buy and went on a seven-round win streak to take the lead at 11-10. VERTEX though, managed to close it out at 13-11, finally getting a couple of clutch situations going their way.
VERTEX started with an 8-4 lead in the series decider on Anubis on the T side but it was Rooster with a stellar T side of their own which saw them secure the map 13-11 to take the series 2-1.
Rooster's 2-1 series win now sets them up for an upper bracket final match with Grayhound, who took down DXA earlier today. VERTEX will fight on in the lower semi-final against Stirlzs Angels.
