BLEED Esports announce Kassad as Head Coach
One of the bigger organizations in the Asian Esports scene, BLEED have entered the CS2 market with a bang. The team took to X, formerly twitter, to announce the signing of Kassad as their head coach.
Kassad is a veteran of the game, having competed as a player in 1.6 and early CS:GO. He then moved to a coaching role, initially finding some success in taming the incredibly raw talent of NiKo in the 2016 Mouz. Kassad is perhaps best known for his stint with the Australian squad in Renegades/100Thieves, where he led the team to multiple major playoffs, peaking at a Top 4 finish in the Starladder Berlin Major. The team was consistently in the Top 10, and were a formidable force well into the Online Era that eventually led to 100T pulling out of the scene, causing the team to go their separate ways.
Kassad's followed that up with a brief run as the coach for Cloud9's Colossus, followed by his time in Extremum in 2021. That disastrous run finally ended with Kassad moving to a Talent role in various ESL events. Now he returns to the coaching job to "put his money where his mouth is", as he said in his tweet following the announcement.
With a massive name as Kassad as their first signing, BLEED is starting off on the right foot, but will the Serbian be able to put a competitive roster in place before PGL Major Copenhagen remains to be seen.
