New Counter-Strike Update fixes Grenade throw strengths

Strength control for Grenade throws see major bug fixes.

Valve released an update for Counter-Strike 2 featuring many bug fixes, particularly pertaining to the grenade throw strength adjustments. The grenade throw adjustments, controlled using the left and right mouse buttons, previously had a bug where they could become delayed and cause throws at unintended strengths.

The developer also fixed bugs related to grenade cancels caused by immediately switching back to the thrown grenade. A new feature allowing instant mid-strength throws was added that can be triggered by pressing primary and secondary attack simultaneously, removing the previously required delay.

The changes seem to be a fix for the issues with grenade throws most recently reported by Twistzz on X, in a post that went out mere hours before the patch notes.

Other minor changes included geometry issues causing players to stick, player ping colors, and some mathematical changes to the logic for Ace Round MVP and shorthanded bonuses. The full patch notes are below:

Gameplay

  • Fixed a bug where grenade throw strength adjustments were sometimes delayed

  • Fixed a bug where attempting to switch to a grenade immediately after throwing it would cancel the throw

  • You can now get an intermediate strength grenade throw without a delay by pressing primary and secondary attack simultaneously

  • Fixed several cases of players sticking while sliding against geometry

  • Player pings will now be displayed in the player's color

MISC

  • Fixed "Ace Round MVP" calculation bug when teams had a different number of players

  • Fixed shorthanded bonus logic sometimes incorrectly accounting for kicked players
