Upthrust Esports clarifies on pending prize money payments
Following Dust2 India's report about KingPins and L.O.T Gaming still waiting on the prize money from Upthrust Esports for the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown 2 and the Upthrust Esports Gaming Fest Season 4, Upthrust Esports has reached out to Dust2 India to clarify their stance on the matter.
KingPins had won the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown 2 on September 17, 2023 and the Upthrust Esports Gaming Fest Season 4 on September 27, 2023, winning INR 25,000 for ending as champions in both events. L.O.T Gaming meanwhile had finished second in the Pro Showdown 2 and had won INR 15,000.
Upthrust stated that they generally take between 90-120 days to clear prize money payments (It's been 107 days since the Pro Showdown 2 and 97 days since Gaming Fest Season 4).
After reaching out to the teams, Dust2 India has learnt that while Upthrust's standard deadline for payments is 90-120 days, the teams were not given any rulebook prior to the start of the two events
Upthrust stated that due to slight miscommunication, they missed out on replying to Dust2 India. Upthrust has reached out to both teams regarding the matter and has clarified the issue with them. It is understood that all the pending payments will be cleared out within this month itself.
