Shocking upset ends Brazilian hopes
The 0-2 bracket kicked into gears with a matchup between Furia and Ecstatic. With Major life on the line, the BO3 began with Furia's pick Overpass, where the Brazilian squad showed signs of struggle early into their T-side, managing a meager 3 rounds. The gamble pick didn't pay off for Furia, as Ecstatic closed out the map with a 13-7 scoreline.
Furia fought hard on the second map Inferno, coming back from a 10-7 deficit, to then securing a 2v4 retake, ultimately clinching the map with a 16-14 scoreline. The third map, which started off well for Furia, as they secured a 7-5 lead. However, the second half gave rise to something unforeseen. Ecstatic went off on a 8 round spree on their T-side to seal the map with a 13-7 win, thus eliminating Furia.

In the 2-0 bracket of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen, NAVI locked horns with Spirit for a chance to proceed to the next stage flawlessly. The BO3 kicked off with NAVI's pick Nuke, where they managed to keep donk under wraps. After managing only 4 rounds on the T-side, they tied the game in regulation, then sealed the deal in OT with a 16-13 scoreline. jL led the server with a mind-baffling 40 kills game.
On Spirit's map pick of Ancient, zont1x emerged as the difference maker, as Spirit walked all over NAVI on their T-side. zont1x earned a 1.50 rating to his name, helping Spirit close out the game in the second half with a 13-9 scoreline. The game progressed to the decider Mirage, where donk, who had been uncharacteristically quiet in the series, sprang to life. As a result, Spirit converted a halftime lead of 7-5 to a 13-7 win.
