End of the line for TheMongolz

With survival in the tournament on the line, TheMongolz faced paiN in the 0-2 bracket of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen. The veto had TheMongolz choose Mirage, while paiN went ahead with Nuke, leaving Inferno as the decider.

The first map kicked off with TheMongolz slaughtering through their T-side, securing an 8-4 lead. 910 punched above his weight wielding the big green, as he achieved a T-rating of 1.90. In the second half, paiN started to find success once the buy rounds unfolded, but it was ultimately TheMongolz who secured their map pick with a 13-9 scoreline.

Next up was Nuke, which initially favored the CT side of TheMongolz, before lux started wreaking havoc, as paiN found a 7-5 lead to change sides to the defensive. TheMongolz kickstarted the T-side in prime fashion, finding a 10-8 lead. However, paiN turned the tides once again, stringing together 5 in a row to close out the map 13-10.

All came down to Inferno, which served as a thrilling decider to the series. Two tied-up halves saw the game move to Overtime. The game stayed neck and neck, taking the game to multiple rounds of Overtime. However, in a devastating turn of events from one of the youngest squads in the tournament, TheMongolz ended up on the losing end by a 22-19 scoreline.
