Carnival Gaming sweeps Victores Sumus to secure Grand Final spot

With True Rippers already having booked their place in the Grand Final of the Skyesports Showdown 2024, the remaining spot was up for grabs between Carnival Gaming and Victores Sumus.

Ancient got the series underway with SpawN and co. starting off on the CT-side. Carnival shut down an A split from Victores Sumus (VS) to start with the opening pistol. bb1 and Shinchan helped VS turn around a 2v3 in a post plant situation on the A site in the first gun round to get themselves on board. After a back and forth affair in the opening couple of rounds, it was an aggressive SpawN who was all over the map, making space for his team that saw Carnival Gaming secure an 8-4 lead. A B-spilt from Carnival saw them tie out the pistols on Ancient and were quickly up to double digits. Carnival wasted no time in securing a 13-5 win to draw first blood in the series.

VS started Carnival's pick of Mirage with the CT pistol and went 5-2 up before a crucial SpawN 1v2 on the B site got Carnival back in the game and they ended the half with a two-round lead. VS looked all set to get themselves back into the half but Carnival with four pistols and one saved AWP saw Rider come in with a 1v2 to put Carnival on 11. Carnival wasted no time after that, securing a 13-7 win to take a comprehensive 2-0 series win.

Carnival Gaming now moves into the Grand Final of the Skyesports Showdown 2024 and will take on True Rippers later on today in a rematch of the Upper Bracket Final.
