Gods Reign brush aside Victores Sumus to lock in semi-final spot

It was an all-Indian encounter in the quarter-final of the GG LEAGUE Pro Series Qualifier 1 as Gods Reign faced Victores Sumus in a BO3 encounter. While two of the three qualified Indian teams met here, the other Indian team who booked their place in Top 8 - iKARI, went down to Pakistan's WahWah earlier in the day and were sent home.

The series kicked off on Inferno, which saw Gods Reign start with the T-sided pistol before Victores Sumus answered back with the force. The force buy wars continued as Gods Reign replied with a force of their own and that helped them run away with the half at 9-3. The CT-side pistol conversion saw Gods Reign lock in both pistols and ease to a 13-4 win with Ph1NNN and R2B2 topping the scoreboards with 17 and 16 kills respectively.

Gods Reign started their pick of Ancient with the T sided pistol once again and a reV3nnnn 1v2 on the B site helped Gods Reign take control of the half. A couple of rounds towards the end of the half helped Victores Sumus pick up four CT side. Victores Sumus picked up a much needed pistol and converted against it which saw them bring it to a one-round game with arakyN and ChAmPcs stepping up. It looked all set for a tied score as Gods Reign put on a low buy but f1redup with the Five-seven came in with a crucial 1v2 on the A site that saw Gods Reign get their defensive half going. Victores Sumus failed to get going after being reset by f1redup and a reV3nnnn quad kill on the B site put Gods Reign on match point which they secured at 13-8 and eased to a 2-0 series win.

The win sees Gods Reign move into the semi-finals at the GG LEAGUE Pro Series Qualifier 1 and the Bhavi led squad is the only remaining Indian team in the tournament, with Victores Sumus heading home after the loss to their compatriots.
