GG League Qualifier 1: Recap

Three Indian teams lock in quarter finals

The GG League Pro Series kicked off it's circuit with the first open qualifier a couple of days back. As we arrive at the backend of the first open qualifier, Indian teams seem to have had a solid run with three of them locking in quarter-final slots.

Gods Reign began their qualifier bracket with a bye and met MoNsTeRr0 in the second round. With four of Gods Reign's players posting ADRs in excess of 100 and the f1redup-R2B2 duo stacking up 17 frags a piece, the Indian team swept a quick 13-3 on Ancient, to move on to the fourth round.

Gods Reign were set to take on Aim in the fourth round but the Pakistani team never showed up, sending Gods Reign to the quarter-finals.

VICTORES SUMUS played their first game in the third round after receiving two free passes in rounds one and two. In the third round, Indian team VICTORES SUMUS took on Pakistani team st4rboys. The bo1 took us to Nuke where BENZENE put up a massive performance to secure a 11-1 first half for VICTORES SUMUS.

st4rboys won the initial couple of rounds in the second half but a couple of multi-kill rounds from ChAmPcs and RaYzeR sealed the deal as VICTORES SUMUS closed out Nuke 13-3, to set up an Indian derby in the quarter-final where they go up against Gods Reign.

After getting a bye in the first round, iKari took on IMORVIX GAMING in the second round in a bo1 on Vertigo. iKari's Br0CK stole the show with a 140 ADR performance, netting the Indian team a 11-1 first half. iKari conceded the pistol and anti-eco in the second half, but IMORVIX GAMING could not close down the colossal buffer, as iKari took Vertigo 13-3, moving on to the next round.

iKari's next game came against Gs Team in the third round, where a no-show from the Iraqi team, send iKari straight to the quarter-final, where they are set to square up against Pakistani team WahWah.

Project Lethals, another Indian team was set to compete in today's qualifier but the team did not show up for their second round game against VICTORES SUMUS after receiving a bye in the first round.

Gods Reign, VICTORES SUMUS and iKari have locked in quarter-final appearances and are just a couple of wins away from booking a main event slot, as the top two teams from each qualifier advance to the main event.
