Rossi: Once he (Anasasis) gets more experience, he will be one of the best in SEA'
True Rippers were comprehensively beaten in the eXTREMESLAND 2024 Indian Qualifier Grand Final, with Gods Reign booking their spot in Shanghai for the main LAN event in January 2025, over their Bengaluru-rivals, True Rippers.
Following the match, True Rippers' captain Rossi spoke to Dust2 India about the eXTREMESLAND 2024 journey for his team, the Grand Final performance, discussed their new signing and more.
Let's talk about your Qualifier journey first, Rossi, how has it been right from the start to the Grand Final today?
The journey was really rough because we didn't have enough time with our imports, didn't have enough time to practice, we probably had three days of overall practice for this event. For the online qualifiers, we somehow managed to get it down, even though we dropped to the Lower Bracket (LB), the team wasn't bogged down, kept their mood up. The LB run was really good, but its just that (I'm not going to say unlucky) but we didn't invest a lot of time into practice, so that's the reason for the result.
Coming to the final, despite Gods Reign taking the win on Inferno (13-11), you guys bounced back really strongly on Nuke (TR 13 - 5 GDR). Can you talk us through the Nuke performance?
The map pool (what we prepared) was a bit stronger than what they have. We had good energy on Nuke, and we managed to get through, play our game. We talked about it, we needed to play our game, rather than try to get into their heads. So that's how it was a good performance on Nuke.
True Rippers' in-game leader also spoke about their new AWP signing, Malaysian player Anasasis, speaking about the youngsters' potential and what could lie ahead for him. Anasasis was brought in recently by the Indian team, replacing Russian player DayMake. True Rippers had also swapped out Crazy_Gamer to bring back Mcg!LLzZz.
He's a great kid and has a lot of potential. It's kind of sad that he didn't get a lot of chances with good teams in the SEA region, he has very little experience right now, eventually when he gets more experience, he will be one of the best in SEA.
Anasasis finished the Grand Final as the highest rated True Rippers player with a rating of 1.22 going 66-54 across the 4 maps and was the only True Rippers player with a positive K/D.
Finally, Rossi signed off with sharing his thoughts about the Indian slot being reinstated at eXTREMESLAND 2024 and what he expects from the tournament organisers in the region for Indian Counter-Strike.
It's actually huge, because after 5-6 years we got it (the slot) back. I hope other TOs also bring more tournaments and I hope Skyesports keeps delivering what they are trying to deliver.
