Four teams eliminated on the first day

The first day of Skyesports AMD GameOn Open Qualifiers began with the first four matches in the RO16. As the four games reached their conclusion, Team M5, Extreme Legacy, ROG Academy, and Frag Theory remained alive in the tournament, while Retaliation, Boosted Bandits, Intense Gaming, and ILLF1RE were eliminated. Here is how the matches unfolded.

RTN vs Team M5 (0-2)

The opening match kicked off between Retaliation and Team M5 on Inferno, ending in a one-sided affair as Team M5 crushed their opponents by a 13-5 margin. The second map Ancient followed suit, as Team M5 once again secured a 13-9 victory, with ArBu leading the charts boasting 22 kills.

Boosted Bandits vs Extreme Legacy

The second game took place between Boosted Bandits and Extreme Legacy, and turned into a nailbiter. While Extreme Legacy took the first map, Inferno, home, by a 13-10 margin, Boosted Bandits came in full force on Anubis, notching a dominant 13-1 win. The deciding map Mirage delivered on all fronts, as both teams tied scores in regulation. In the second overtime, it was Extreme Legacy to find the edge, securing a 19-17 win to take the series win.

Intense Gaming vs ROG Academy

ROG Academy's brawl with Intense Gaming ended in a win, as the Bo3 went all three maps. Both the teams exchanged the first two maps, with ROG Academy securing Mirage with a 13-1 win, and Intense Gaming triumphing on Dust 2 with a 16-13 score line. The final map Anubis ended in the favour of ROG Academy, who were able to win out the series in Overtime by a 13-3 margin.

ILLF1RE vs Frag Theory

The final game of the day took us to a matchup between Frag Theory and ILLF1RE, where Frag Theory managed to best out their opponents in two maps. The first map Ancient saw Pa1NNNN and eL join forces, propelling their team to a 13-10 win. The second map Dust2, ended in similar fashion for Frag Theory, with Br0keNxD stepping up for his team to secure a 13-8 win.
