NEUZ: 'I believe we can go all the way if do the basics right'
Chinggis Warriors came into Group A's deciding match against Gods Reign as the favourites, although they had lost the game before to Rare Atom. The Mongolian squad though were hit instant by a strong T side on Anubis by Gods Reign but Chinggis Warriors managed to turn it around and send Gods Reign home eventually and make it to the quarter-finals at the eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024.
Post their hard-fought win over the Indian team, Chinggis Warriors' NEUZ spoke about the game and their path ahead in Shanghai.
You guys managed to close the gap from a 3-9 half and eventually closed out the map on Anubis, can you talk about your comeback?
We knew what we did wrong, sometimes we gave them too much space. But we always know T-side Anubis we win. We just did not repeat our mistakes from the first half.
controlez was AWPing, rifling, he was doing everything on Mirage. Can you talk about his performance on Mirage and who helps in keeping the team calm in such pressure situations?
I know! He’s (controlez) just so fucking sick, it’s really cool playing with him. He just too good. And there’s not one guy in particular, we’re all constantly uplifting each other and keep things light when pressure builds up like the decider in this series. Even though we lost second map we were very cool and played confidently because everyone supports each other in the team.
controlez had a stellar showing on the deciding map on Mirage, going 28-12 with an ADR of 133.5! He had a rating of 2.09 on the map.
How's the feeling making it into the Playoffs?
I believe we can go all the way if do the basics right and do our parts correctly. If we really prepare and set our minds right, there’s no reason why can’t win the event.
