Skyesports Masters 2024 Grand Final: Preview

Final day at the Skyesports Masters 2024

After a week of action we have reached the Grand Final of the Skyesports Masters 2024 with Aurora set to take on OG in the BO5 Grand Final later on today.

The first team to make the finals was Aurora, who have now made it two out of two Grand Finals in back-to-back Skyesports events after winning the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 earlier in March 2024. Aurora have been in red hot form at the Masters 2024 and have made it to the Grand Finals without dropping a single map in the tournament yet. They have already taken down the likes OG, FORZE and BetBoom on their way to the final and with r3salt joining the roster just ahead of the event, in place of BELCHONOKK, it has made them quite the force to be reckoned with.

KENSI and deko have been in top form for the Russians as well with the duo being the top most rated players at the event with ratings of 1.47 and 1.32 respectively. KENSI also is a hot favourite for the tournament MVP with the form and numbers he has put up through the event.

Taking on Aurora will be OG in a rematch of both the teams' opening game at Skyesports Masters 2024. It's not been the easiest road to the Grand Final for k1to and co. as they started the event with a roster change which saw MoDo come in for regali on the day of their opening game after going down to Aurora in their opening game, they were on the brink of elimination after going 0-1 to ENCE in the lower bracket round 1 game. OG hung on to knock ENCE out, reverse sweeping gla1ve and co. and then cleaned up Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP).

OG faced BIG in the lower bracket final yesterday and k1to sent his former teammates home before taking on BetBoom late last night. Two dominating map wins saw OG get past BetBoom and now after an incredible lower bracket run, they have Aurora between themselves and the title.

While they were not the favourites, OG have dug deep and shown resilience whenever needed and that's what has got them to the Grand Finals today. HeavyGod and F1KU have been the two heavy-hitters for OG while Nexius has been the perfect team player along with their new signing MoDo showing promise in the last few matches. Heading into the final, OG will hope all of their players are firing to give this new roster their first title.

A BO5 Grand Final means it will test out all the players in the server and with Aurora being in the red-hot form as they are, OG will need to make sure they don't give Aurora a big early advantage which the Russians can use to close out the series quickly. OG will have not only the title and the $105,000 prize money in mind but also revenge for the opening game as the look to settle the score.
