9INE push Cloud9 to the limit
Cloud9 were pushed to the limit but they managed to take down 9INE and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Brazy Party 2023. Cloud9 had to perform the reverse-sweep after going down in the opening map to secure the series.
The series kicked off on Cloud9's pick of Vertigo and it was the Poles who took the pistol. 9INE had a strong first half on the CT side and ended the half 10-5 with KEi and Goofy having a strong start. Cloud9 picked up the pistol on the second half. to stay alive on the map. 9INE almost were all set of their first round on round 18 but sh1ro came in with a crucial 1v2 clutch to make sure the lead didn't increase. 9 rounds though was all that Cloud9 could manage as 9INE took their map pick 16-9 and reiterated why they are probably one of the best Vertigo teams in the world.
Next up was Cloud9's pick of Ancient and it was the Poles with the pistols again but it was Cloud9 on their pick, who had the stronger first half, finishing 9-6 in the lead with Ax1Le, buster and sh1ro having a solid first half. Cloud9 took the pistol on their CT half and provided a stellar defence to secure the map 16-8. HObbit finished the map with a 1.54 rating while sh1ro ended with a strong 1.41.
The decider was on Overpass and it was 9INE on the T side who found the pistol this time but Cloud9 immediately responded with the force buy. The rest of the first half was neck-and-neck with both teams trading rounds as 9INE finished the first half with a slender lead at 8-7. 9INE took the all important pistol in the second half which tied the score up at 8-8. 9INE put up a strong defence which saw them take the score to 14-9 and it looked like they would run away with a shock win but Cloud9 fought back to tie things up at 14-14 with two of their heavy-hitters Ax1Le and sh1ro stepping up. 9INE managed to finally get a CT half which helped them take the map to overtime. Cloud9 eventually did manage to close out the game, closing the map at 22-20.
9INE will now face Sprout in the elimination game.
