SAW dominate Astralis in Brazy Party 2023
In a rematch of the game that qualified Astralis to the RMR, SAW took the win 2-1 with two dominant maps on Ancient and Inferno. Astralis now drop down to the decider match in Group C where they will face ENCE.
The game started off on Ancient as the Danes converted the pistol round to get a 3-0 start. The half from then was almost a one-way street, with SAW picking up 9 rounds in the half to head into the second with a 3 round lead. Over on the attack, MUTiRiS' crew picked 7 rounds straight to pick the map up comfortably, with new recruit Altekz being the only one performing on the Astralis' side.
If Ancient was dominant, Astralis brought the heat to SAW with an unbreakable 13-round defence on SAW's pick of Nuke. Even as SAW picked up a pistol-round win, expecting another comeback out of them like yesterday was impossible. blameF put up an insane 2.43 rating with 31 kills and knocked the Portuguese to a third map with just 4 rounds in their tally.
Going onto Inferno for the decider, the story of dominant halves continued as, once again, SAW took off on the T side. As arrozdoce popped off, the team just ploughed through the Astralis defence, taking 12 rounds in the half, leaving the Danes with barely any hope of winning the series. gla1ve, blameF and buzz performed decently, but even with a pistol round conversion, SAW was too far ahead to stop.
The Portuguese side now moves into the playoffs, and they await the quarter finals draw to determine their opponent.
