A quick look at the day's results

The first day of the final CS:GO Major, the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023's Challenger Stage is over and for all of you who missed the action, we have a quick recap of the day for you.

It was a Brazilian derby as Fluxo and paiN got things underway on Mirage and it was an absolute blow out as paiN secured the map 16-2 with relative ease. FaZe survived a scare from Monte to win their first game 16-14 while G2 were also looking at an early loss against TheMongolz before taking a 16-11 win.

Complexity gave North America a bright start with a 16-11 win while Grayhound managed to turn around a 3-12 deficit to defy the odds and make a tremendous comeback to win their opening match 16-14 on Mirage. Liquid were slow off the blocks as Apeks handed them an early 16-12 defeat while the Ninjas in Pyjamas made short work of MOUZ on Mirage with a 16-9 win.

m0NESY ended the first day with a 1.82 rating

ENCE brushed aside OG 16-6 on Anubis while G2's star AWP-er m0NESY lived up to all the hype surrounding him as he helped his team demolish Complexity 16-9 on Inferno. FaZe ended their first day with a 16-12 win over paiN while Apeks drubbed Grayhound 16-0 on Mirage to become the second team in Major history after Astralis to get a clean 16-0. ENCE took down NiP 16-9 on Vertigo while Fluxo were sent to the brink of elimination by Monte, following the Ukrainian squad's 16-8 win on Overpass. The first day was rounded out with heartbreak for North America as Liquid managed to throw a 14-12 lead against FORZE to go down 14-16 and now are a loss away from elimination and MOUZ are on the same boat after they went down 11-16 to OG in the final game of the day.

Looking at the individual players, it was m0NESY and zorte who topped the ratings chart. The top five players at the end of the first day were:

  • zorte - 1.53 rating

  • jL - 1.51 rating

  • huNter- 1.46 rating

  • NEKIZ - 1.38 rating
