Two teams got eliminated on the second day of the Challengers Stage

Paris Major 2023 Challengers Stage: Day 2 recap

Taking a look at all the action from Day 2

There was plenty of action on Day 2 of the Challengers Stage of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. We had a couple teams make their way to the Legends Stage while we also had to bid goodbye to a couple of teams, as they left Paris going 0-3.

Here's a quick recap of the day.

Legends:
G2 were the first team to qualify for the Legends Stage after clean 2-0 (Anubis 16-11 and Inferno 16-3) win against Apeks while ENCE beat FaZe 2-1 (Overpass 12-16, Nuke 16-13 and Anubis 16-8) to secure the Legends spot as well.

Hanging by a thread:
The 1-1 best-of-one games got the day underway and Complexity were blown away by paiN on Nuke, where Complexity were guilty of multiple glaring errors in their gameplay. They now lie in the 1-2 bracket and can not afford any more slip ups.

The Asian/OCE region battle saw Grayhound take on TheMongolz and it was the Australian team who took down TheMongolz 16-10 on Nuke, to leave the Asian team one loss away from elimination.

The Aussies are a win away from the top 16

OG threw away a 11-4 lead against Ninjas in Pyjamas on Mirage and went down overtime which drops them also to a loss away from elimination while Monte were hammered by FORZE 16-6 to leave the Ukrainian squad starting at elimination as well.

The final game of the day saw Liquid battle Fluxo to stay in the competition and Liquid hung on by the skin of their teeth with Fluxo pushing them to three maps. Liquid lost the series opener on Nuke but managed to hold on, on Inferno and Ancient.

End of the line:
The second day also saw two teams get eliminated. The first team to leave the Paris Major 2023 was MOUZ after a lacklustre outing against GamerLegion who 2-0 them on Mirage (16-12) and Overpass (16-5), with MOUZ leaving the Major without picking up a single map.

The second team to get eliminated was Fluxo, who were one of the weaker teams in the competition but the Brazilians made Liquid sweat and took a map from them in their elimination match. Fluxo took the opening map 16-11 on Nuke but Liquid managed to scrape by 16-14 on Inferno and held on 16-13 to keep themselves alive.
