TheMongolz go down 0-2

Monte have sent TheMongolz home from the Paris Major 2023 as the Ukrainian side took down the Asian team 2-0 in their elimination match. Monte's win now sees them move up to the 2-2 bracket to keep their Legends Stage dreams alive.

The first elimination game of the day kicked off on TheMongolz's pick of Nuke. TheMongolz, starting on the T side, picked up the pistol but Monte responded with a force buy to tie things up. Monte converted the next two low buys from TheMongolz before the Asian team secured their second round of the map in the first gun round as Techno won a 1v1 clutch on the B site. Strong defensive holds from DemQQ and BOROS saw Monte end the first half with a 11-4 lead as hasteka came in with a 1v3 clutch at the very end to give TheMongolz their fourth round.

A triple kill from BOROS in the second pistol saw Monte secure their 12th but TheMongolz fought back to take their fifth with a force-buy as bLitz came in with an impactful round which saw him open and close the round. TheMongolz's force buy saw them pick up a couple of rounds to get to eight but Monte were back on the board once their guns were out. bLitz's entries kept TheMongolz in the game as they got to 10 rounds. A bLitz quad kill saw TheMongolz get to 12 but Monte eventually were a bit too strong as they closed out the map at 16-13 to deny TheMongolz any chance of a comeback.

DemQQ ended the opening map with 32 kills and a 1.70 rating

The second map was Monte's pick of Anubis, on which they were on a 14-map win streak. The Ukrainian team started on the defensive half but once again it was TheMongolz who took the opening pistol. Just like on Nuke, after TheMongolz took the pistol, Monte bounced back with the force again on Anubis and DemQQ made sure TheMongolz didn't run away with a eco round, with the Ukrainian rifler coming in with a crucial triple kill. Techno almost gave TheMongolz their second round with a quad kill in an eco round but Woro2k clutched out a 1v1 to deny Techno the ace and give Monte their fourth. bLitz, hasteka and Techno put together a couple of crucial multi-kill rounds to help TheMongolz take five-rounds in a row to take the lead of the map at 6-4. A triple kill from Techno in round 13 saw TheMongolz win out the half and ended the half with a 8-7 lead.

BOROS was once again the heavy-hitter for Monte

Monte took the second pistol and converted the following eco buy round from TheMongolz to take the lead of the game at 9-8. TheMongolz tied things back as soon as they got the guns out thanks to a strong hold from Techno in connector. Woro2k came in with an incredible 1v4 clutch on a full eco round from the Ukrainians to put Monte on 14. BOROS came in with his own quad kill as he helped Monte secure map, match and series point. sdy eventually clutched out a 1v2 as Monte closed out the map 16-12.
