fnatic take down NiP in Legends Stage opener
fnatic showed no signs for rustiness as they won their Legends Stage opener against the Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) 16-11 on Nuke. For fnatic, it was their in-game leader mezii who was the deciding factor between the two teams.
Two of CS:GO's most iconic organisations, fnatic and NiP kicked off their Legends Stage campaign against each other on Nuke. Starting on the CT side, fnatic took an early 3-0 with nicoodoz, roeJ and mezii coming in with triple kills in the opening three rounds. It was an Aleksib double in the fifth round that saw NiP get on the board. A couple of clean rounds from NiP saw them close the game a 4-5 before Aleksib's intuitive calling saw them tie up the game at 6-6. mezii's bold play in round 13 saw fnatic's in-game leader come in with a crucial triple kill to give fnatic their seventh. A triple kill from nicoodoz on A site saw fnatic end the first half with a 9-6 lead.
NiP took the pistol as k0nfig came in with a triple kill. After NiP converted the eco buy from fnatic, once the guns came out, it was fnatic to take their first T round to secure their tenth. mezii clutched out an important 1v2 on the A site to help fnatic get to 12 against an eco buy from NiP. k0nfig's triple kill on round 21 saw NiP move up to 9 rounds as mezii ended up knifing headtr1ck in a round loss for fnatic. After a couple of gun rounds from NiP, fnatic answered back on a low buy around two saved guns to secure their 13th following a quick B rush. fnatic converted a 2v4 on the A site as roeJ and mezii made sure fnatic secured map point at 15-11. fnatic wasted no time in wrapping up the match at 16-11 with mezii leading from the front with 27 kills.
