Heroic secure IEM Dallas 2023 playoffs spot
Heroic became the second team after G2 to secure a spot in the playoffs at the IEM Dallas 2023. Heroic beat MOUZ 2-0 to set up a date with G2 in the playoffs. MOUZ will now face FURIA in the Group A lower bracket semi-final.
The opening map of the series was MOUZ's pick of Mirage with the Danes starting on the defensive half. It was xertioN who gave MOUZ the opening pistol, clutching out a 1v1 against sjuush. Heroic responded with a force buy in the second round and it was a brawl on the B site which saw stavn clutch out a 1v2 with the deagle to close the round for Heroic. Conversions against the eco and upgraded pistols, saw Heroic go 3-1 up before both sides brought out the guns. It was xertioN again, who gave MOUZ their second round, with a multi-kill to cut down Heroic's lead to one round.

dexter's double helped MOUZ tie up things at 3-3. stavn denied JDC an ace, clutching out a 1v1 to secure Heroic's seventh as the Danes were putting up a stellar defence. After four rounds in a row, MOUZ got their fourth on the back of a low buy with nothing buy upgraded pistols. The Danes though did not give any other freebies as they secured an 11-4 lead at the end of the first half as TeSeS ended the half with a 1v3 including a ninjas defuse.
cadiaN's 1v1 against torzsi saw Heroic pick up the second pistol but MOUZ bounced back with upgraded pistols as dexter came in with an impactful triple kill. stavn's triple kill once Heroic brought out the guns again, saw the Danes secure their 13th. jabbi's ace which included a 1v3 clutch on the A site saw Heroic get to map point and the Danes went on to close the map at 16-6. It was jabbi who topped Heroic's scoreboard on Mirage with 23 kills.
Heroic's pick was Overpass with MOUZ starting on the CT half and it was dexter's men who picked up the opening pistol on Overpass. MOUZ went 3-0 up as they saw off Heroic's force buy and eco round. dexter's triple kill in the first gun round saw MOUZ keep their lead flawless and MOUZ were 5-0 up before the Danes put up their first T round. MOUZ responded with three of their own to win out the half before Heroic got the second round. cadiaN's 1v1 against JDC saw Heroic post two back-to-back. The Danes eventually managed to string together six rounds in a row to end the first half at 7-8.

frozen kicked off the second half with an ace which included a 1v4 to give MOUZ a two-round lead. sjuush's 1v1 against frozen on the force buy saw Heroic get right back to winning ways and a TeSeS triple saw the Danes tie up the game at 9-9. MOUZ got their second T round on the back of a double frozen opener at B to get the score to 10-15. dexter called a B site from spawn but jabbi and stavn shut it down as the Danes closed the map at 16-10 to secure the series 2-0. sjuush was Heroic's top scorer on Overpass with 26 kills and a 1.52 rating.
