Marcos Gaming sweep Gods Reign

Marcos Gaming versus Gods Reign was an anticipated matchup with both teams coming in with winstreaks at the Skyesports Masters league stage. With Rider's incredible performance, Marcos ended up dominating GR on Overpass and edging out the series win on Ancient.

Marcos started off Overpass with a successful retake of the A site to take the pistol round win. In the gun round, reV3nn’s frags helped GR find an open B site for their first round but were shut down in the subsequent rounds. Clouda clutched out round 6 to get Gods Reign up to 2. The following round was a similar retake on the B site, this time breaking Marcos’ way. With everyone in double digits, Marcos was far ahead in the lead with a 10-2 scoreline.

With a 12-3 half, the team was well on their way to victory, and a pistol round conversion in the second half pushed them to 14. Guns came out for Gods Reign and they were finally able to string some rounds together. While Marcos still reached matchpoint, GR managed to keep them in check as they extended their score to 8. But that was as far as they could go as Rider closed the game out 16-9 with a 1v2 clutch.

Moving over to Ancient, Gods Reign finally started off in the lead with a pistol-round conversion. It was around 5 when Marcos was finally able to answer back, and they made that win into a streak of 5 to take the lead. While Marcos maintained their lead, Gods Reign were right alongside them, closing out the half 8-7. Gods Reign finally took the lead in the second half before a tech pause halted the game.

Coming out of the pause, the team was still able to hold on, extending their lead to an 11-9 scoreline, before being hit by yet another tech break. Marcos’ defence activates this time, equalising the scoreline 12-12. The two squads traded rounds but Marcos once again reached overtime at 15-14. A B site bash ended the map with Marcos taking the series in two.
