karrigan leads FaZe to Group C victory

After facing defeat at the hands of Team Liquid in the group stage, FaZe found themselves pitted against them once again, in the final match for Group C victory. Instead of choosing Inferno, FaZe decided to pick Overpass, while Liquid opted for Ancient, where they had shown their strength with 14 rounds on defense in the previous encounter. The final decisive map was Mirage, where Liquid had narrowly defeated FaZe previously.

FaZe made an impressive start on Overpass, capitalizing on strong B hits and well-executed entry flashes, earning a 6-3 advantage despite losing the pistol round. karrigan, the captain, led by example, delivering crucial frags and providing his team with a comfortable path to the bomb sites. His exceptional 1.68 rating on the T side put FaZe in a favorable position going into the CT side, securing a commanding 10-5 lead in the first half.

During the CT side, FaZe displayed unwavering determination, allowing Liquid to secure only two rounds after FaZe locked in the 14th round. However, FaZe retaliated right back, claiming two more rounds and decisively closing out the map with a 16-7 victory.

In the opening pistol round of Ancient, Patsi came in with a crucial 1V3 clutch, as he killed the last player defusing the bomb with 0.04 seconds left on the timer. FaZe, fueled by impactful fragging from karrigan, regained momentum, claiming six consecutive rounds. However, Liquid answered back with 4 rounds of their own, on the back of multi-kills from NAF. Some consistent shutdowns from Twistzz ace on the 13th round propelled FaZe to a 9-6 half.

karrigan was in top form today, as he got 3 sharp kills to ensure FaZe secured the crucial second pistol. They managed to secure the conversions before Liquid finally awoke after the guns rolled in. They narrowed the score down to 12-10 before Liquid regained their footing. Liquid closed the gap to 12-10, but Karrigan's strategic calls and clever plays exploited A defense vulnerabilities. FaZe secured well-timed round wins and ultimately closed out the game with a 16-11 victory. karrigan ended the game sitting on top of the scoreboard, with a 1.40 rating and 1.51 impact rating.
