frozen dominates NIP to qualify for IEM Cologne groups
After a lacklustre ovetime affair against TheMongolz where torzsi had to drop 50 to carry his team across the board, MOUZ moved to a match against the Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Hungarian AWPer started with two stunners on the pistol, with frozen taking 4 in the following anti-eco. MOUZ had a massive advantage in round 4, but REZ and Brollan stole the round away with just pistols around a hero AK. The German organization retained control of the map as torzsi’s AWP denied NIP back to back rounds with a triple.
A single saved FAMAS on frozen in round 12 dominated NIP with an ice-cold ACE to keep hampus’ troops in the dumps. It looked like MOUZ’s playground as siuhy shot up the ladder to heaven and took out 2 in the penultimate round of the first half. NIP converted the second pistol round, but were denied the equalizer as MOUZ hit double digits. With frozen hitting 30 and siuhy pulling out some killer shots in a clutch, MOUZ hit match-point at 15-8. NIP’s stars k0nfig and REZ turned up the heat as they pushed NIP to 12 rounds, but MOUZ’s Finnish rookie got a double entry on the A site to lock in the map.
MOUZ once again started with a pistol round on Inferno. torzsi and frozen kept up their form, both hitting double digits early on to give MOUZ a 11-4 lead at halftime. The unstoppable international roster quickly ran up to 15-6 without breaking a sweat. Losing just one more round in the process, MOUZ locked in their spot at Cologne and will look to replicate their top 4 finish from the 2022 edition of the event.
