"We got a bit flustered" - Roflko
After losing a very close match against Gods Reign, we got a chance to talk to Roflko from Engima Gaming. Here's what he had to say.
On Inferno, you build up a lead of 15-10, but things started to go south. They switched their playstyle, started making more aggressive plays. From your perspective, what went wrong?
I think we just lost to ourselves on Inferno. Was making really good calls, but we weren't executing really well. We got a bit flustered. Not too much to say there. We just choked a bit.
Compared to the last time you played Gods Reign, did you notice something different in their playstyle this time?
Not too much, I think they were more prepared this time. It's crazy we versed them literally two days ago and then played them today again in a best-of-three. But it is what it is. I think they were a bit more prepared. They had a game plan coming into it. So props to them, they prepared well.
Coming to Overpass, they were leading 14-8. And you showed some resilience, narrowed down the lead, still somehow last. How was the temperament in the team in those final rounds?
I think everyone was pretty focused in the final moments. The calling was really good. It was just down to little fundamentals that didn't get us over the line. That is what it comes down to really, in the end. Just spacing, communication, and trades. It's a game of clicking heads, whoever clicks them more. And if you can't trade, then you lose. So I think everyone was pretty focused. We were all locked in. It is what it is.
Are there any key areas you would like to improve?
As I said, just fundamentals. Just communication, staying on the same page. Actually listening when calls are made. And then implementing them. Working to build around the round that's called is really important. Just basics, nothing too crazy.
