VERTEX gets the better of Rooster in the IEM Sydney Closed Qualifiers

VERTEX kicked off strongly on the CT side of Overpass, taking a commanding 7-1 lead even after losing the first buy round. nekkit's was continuously being a thorn in the sides of VERTEX, as he even put up a valiant fight in a 1v2 situation during the 4th round. However, Rooster struggled to find their footing on the T-side and only managed to secure three rounds by halftime. chelleos' AWP kills played a crucial role in helping them secure the last two rounds.

The second half saw Rooster make a comeback by claiming the first four rounds, bringing the score to 12-7. Yet, it was malta from VERTEX who turned the tide, securing back-to-back opening kills in two rounds, putting his team back in control. Despite Rooster's efforts to win two more consecutive rounds, VERTEX responded swiftly with their own pair of rounds, ultimately closing out Rooster's map choice with a solid 16-9 victory.

ADDICT had a dominant showing on Vertigo

Transitioning to the next map, VERTEX's choice of Vertigo, Rooster managed to gain an early advantage, securing a 3-0 lead effortlessly. However, the momentum shifted when VERTEX brought out their heavy hitters, hazr and ADDICT, who began dismantling Rooster's defense. Joining forces, they amassed over 40 kills, propelling their team to secure 10 rounds on the Terrorist side. Sustaining their dominance, they forged a streak of 5 consecutive rounds as their Counter-Terrorist side inched closer to match point. While chelleos' put up a fight with his multiple kills in 2 rounds, elevating Rooster's score to 7 rounds, VERTEX ultimately clinched the match with a 16-7 victory.
