”We should’ve finished it 2-0” - SpawN
After a thrilling 2-1 series win against 7SEA Esports, Revenant Esports have now secured the first grand finals spot in the Skyesports Masters 2023. After the game, we got a chance to talk to SpawN, the in-game leader of Revenant Esports and here’s what he had to say about the match and their plans going into the finals.
Great win, how’re you feeling?
”Feeling great! We should’ve finished it 2-0, we were 15-9 up and everyone got overexcited because of which, we lost a few buy rounds. It was kind of hard to reset after that. Going into Mirage, we were very confident, we have great stats on Mirage, we closed that out and the third map was all about momentum. They got that momentum but we were confident and knew that we just needed 2-3 good rounds. I gave a stack call to my team, to go A and it worked and that got them (7SEA Esports) very confused.”
I think we must talk about that 5-usp round and the other one where DiceDealer clutched out a 1v2 on B, what happened?
”Yes! There was another round that we lost in similar fashion, there were a lot of mis-comms and the trades really didn’t come through. I also had another plan where I show them a solo-AWP at one site and rotate it immediately to the opposite side to make them stack against the AWP. The DiceDealer clutch- 3nable didn’t communicate the position of the smoke and I just swung when I saw him take the fight. Unfortunate, but we reset nonetheless.”
You're now one step away, what are your plans?
”We haven’t had anything to eat till now, so we’re gonna eat and rest well today. We’ll watch the next game to see who’ll reach the finals and prepare accordingly.”
