Skyesports Masters Grand Final - Revenant Esports vs Gods Reign: Things to look forward to

The final game is here

After almost two months of intense Counter-Strike action in India, which saw eight franchises battle it out in India's biggest esports league, the Skyesports Masters, time has now come to crown the inaugural Skyesports Masters champion. After two very interesting semifinals for extreme reasons, it will be Gods Reign taking on Revenant Esports in the Grand Finals of the Skyesports Masters.

Before heading into the final later today, here are few things to look forward to.

An AWP-ing masterclass -
The Grand Finals of the Skyesports Masters will have Revenant Esports' f1redup take on his AWPing counterpart Gods Reign's reV3nnnn. Not only have they been two of the tournament's best snipers, they are easily two of the best players in the country to wield the Big Green. f1redup's consistency and high-fragging output has been a crucial factor in Revenant Esports finishing the League Stage strongly and he was on top form in their semifinal against 7SEA, which helped his team perform a crucial reverse-sweep.

On the other side, f1redup will be going up against quite arguably the country's best sniper and it would only be f1redup who can challenge him for the position - reV3nnnn. An experienced camper who has proven time and again how valuable he is to any team he is in. reV3nnnn was probably the star AWPer in the League Stage and the Gods Reign man was at his brilliant best on the LAN stage against Marcos Gaming that helped Gods Reign hammer Marcos Gaming in the second semi-final. While reV3nnnn might be one of the flashiest AWPers in the region, he backs it up with his incredibly conversion which has been invaluable to Gods Reign in the League Stage run and on the big stage also. Gods Reign will be hoping for another strong performance from reV3nnnn in the Grand Finals.

Battle of the brains and brawn -
Another crucial, deciding factor in the Grand Finals will be the clash of the two in-game leaders (IGL). Revenant had a mixed start to the season and they went through two IGLs before settling on their current one SpawN. A veteran of the game, who knows the Indian scene like the back of his hand, ever since SpawN has taken over the reigns, the change in performances from Revenant has quite visible. Not only does SpawN bring his wealth of experience while calling, it also helps free up the likes of gump and f1redup, who have had more freedom around the maps. The final factor is SpawN's fragging ability, he holds his own and steps up with crucial impactful kills time and again, when his team needs him the most. SpawN's fragging will definitely be an important factor against Gods Reign.

SpawN's counterpart, Crazy_Gamer is another one who we should keep an eye on. Crazy_Gamer might not have as much experience as SpawN but he has been around for a while and comes in with a ton of experience. Like the Indian-core of Revenant, Gods Reign's team are also a group who have been playing together for a while which obviously plays a big part in helping Crazy_Gamer understand what works for his team and what doesn't. Crazy_Gamer has a brilliant relationship with the team's coach PokemoN, with the both of them having prepared the team for any situations. While Crazy_Gamer's calling is a big plus point for the rifler, the other factor which would play a big part is his fragging. Like SpawN, Crazy_Gamer is more than a handy rifler, who steps up for his team in crucial situations and in the certain maps he pops off, there is no stopping him. His performance against Marcos Gaming in the second semifinal on Overpass is the best example of this. Not only was he calling a brilliant CT side, he also went crazy (no pun intended) with his fragging that saw his team stomp Marcos Gaming.

A crucial part of the Final will be the two captains and not only will their calling be under the spotlight but also their fragging abilities.

Tenacity -

The thing that set both these teams apart from the rest is their tenacity and it will be on display once again in the Grand Finals. Neither of these teams had the smoothest of runs in the League Stage and both had mixed results which saw Revenant Esports take time to get going, while not having finalised their IGL and Gods Reigns' mixed season saw them qualify in fourth place, not somewhere they would've hoped to have finished the League Stage, given what they have in their arsenal.

Irrespective of the setbacks, both these teams have not given up, kept fighting on and overcome every hurdle in their way. An ideal example of this would be Revenant's win in the semifinal over 7SEA. They let go of a 15-10 lead to lose the opening map and whilst being 0-1 in the series, they bounced back and even when they were 2-10 down on Inferno, they did not give up and managed to perform the reverse-sweep to book their Grand Finals spot.

The tenacity of both these teams will be put to the test in the Grand Finals, on the biggest stage, in front of a live-audience, both teams will feel the heat and the one who can overcome all the hurdles, will be the one lifting the cup.
