NIP overpowers Astralis
Commencing on the T-side of their own map pick Ancient, Astralis gained an early edge by securing three rounds as they converted the Pistol by hitting the A bombsite. While NIP managed to even the score, Astralis remained in control with A site hits. They found themselves in a favorable position, having secured five rounds at a score of 4-5. However, NIP managed to make a comeback. With the combined efforts of k0nfig and headtr1ck, they managed to turn the tide, taking the lead at 9-6 by the end of the half.
The once-strong position of Astralis took a dire turn as NIP found a 3-round streak to extend their lead to 12-6. Subsequently, Astralis found their rhythm on the CT side, with b0RUP, Staehr, and blameF stepping up sequentially to deliver impactful multi-kills, narrowing NIP's advantage to 12-10. Yet, NIP quickly regained its footing and built momentum with a budget buy, securing the 23rd round. The relentless pressure from NIP overwhelmed Astralis' defense, leading the Ninjas in Pyjamas to secure a 16-10 victory on the scoreboard.
Next up was NIP's pick of Inferno, where they kicked things off as Terrorists. Despite Astralis finding the early pistol, the first half leaned toward the offensive side. The momentum shifted following NIP's loss in the subsequent round, despite their victory in the initial buy round. From this juncture, NIP managed to win 8 of the remaining 11 rounds to close the half at 9-6. Leading the charge were REZ, and headtr1ck who achieved double-digit scores within the first 15 rounds
While Astralis started the second half on the right foot by overtaking NIP by 10-9 as they found 4 rounds in a row, once the full buys found its way to the second half of Inferno, NIP came out as the dominant force of the two. They displayed brilliance in their team chemistry as unlike Ancient, every peek the CTs made was backed up by flashes. Astralis stood no chance, as they could only convert one more round courtesy of a hall pop, but ultimately stumbled to a 16-11 loss.
