reV3nnnn 'I want to dominate Asia in CS2'
With CS2 being launched globally, the entire Counter-Strike community is buzzing. Just as the hype is abroad, our Indian pros are also getting ready to compete in CS2 and make the region a competitive region.
Dust2 India spoke to one of the country's finest players, reV3nnnn who spoke to us about his first impression of the new iteration, personal goals and more.
CS2 has finally arrived - what are your thoughts on the game so far? Any particular things you want changed in CS2 from CS:GO?
I played a couple of CS2 matches, once it launched following the global launch. A couple of things which I didn't like - it is too bright, I feel they have put in a lot of colour which has resulted in certain angles and spots which aren't visible. The maps also have seen a lot of change, which has brought out a lot of changes in the utilities and I feel the gun mechanics, the hitregs is a little different from CS:GO.
And another factor is a lot of change with regards to audio, for example you can't hear anything inside the smoke and maybe there is bug with the molly.
As far as changes I would want in CS2, I would want Cache to return and also the movement and view-model isn't the best. I'm not a fan of spectating the model's own legs but apart from that, it's still at a nascent stage and I haven't played a lot so can't say a lot at this moment.
Gods Reign are one of the best team's in the region right now and you guys are going through an incredible run of form. Are you worried that with the new meta, you might lose that form, the consistency?
It maybe new but it's not a different game. The game sense remains the same, the small things like audio, map changes, utilities etc. will be needed to learnt again but what we have learnt will remain and we will continue to learn moving ahead. We will take some time to adjust and during that time we might even lose a few matches and tournaments but once we are up with the new meta, and the faster that happens, we'll be up there once again and I don't think there will be anyone who can beat us in India.
What are your personal ambitions/goals for CS2?
We won one major trophy (Skyesports Master 2023) and hope to sign off with another one (Skyesports Souvenir), I will give my 200% to try to get this one as well. For CS2, I will target to win Major trophies in India again and I also want to represent India at the international level. And by internationally, I'm not talking about Asia, I want to get to the European scene. I need to keep a big target to make sure I keep going up and if I am to get there, I will obviously need to dominate Asia and that's my goal - I want to dominate Asia in CS2 to start off with.
