NAVI shuts down Eternal Fire
With CS:GO's time coming to an end, the iteration's greatest, s1mple was looking to sign off with yet another trophy to his illustrious career. Natus Vincere (NAVI) continued their final CS:GO EPL campaign, taking on Turkish contenders, Eternal Fire (EF) in the second quarterfinal of ESL Pro League Season 18.
The Turkish team's pick of Anubis was the opening map of the series and NAVI started with a 7-0 lead on the T side before EF got on the board. It was all NAVI as their rifling duo of b1t and iM was cracking open both sites to give NAVI a 10-5 lead at the break. NAVI conceded only two rounds on their CT half as they won Anubis at 16-7.
NAVI's pick of Nuke saw Aleksib and co. start with another pistol win, on the T side. It was seven consecutive T rounds before MAJ3R and XANTARES helped EF get their first CT round. s1mple and iM turned around a 2v4 on the B site to give NAVI their ninth and it was a 10-5 lead for the T side before they switched sides. EF took a much needed second pistol before getting it two a two round game. It was the s1mple and iM duo again who converted yet another man disadvantage to give NAVI their first CT round. It seemed like EF might take us to a third map but s1mple and b1t combined to make sure NAVI won Nuke at 16-10 and secure the series.
With the series win, NAVI will now face Monte in the semifinals of the ESL Pro League Season 18.
