Counter-Strike 2 loses MacOS support

1.57% of the player base played CS:GO on MacOS

Counter-Strike 2 will not offer MacOS support despite Apple's promising M2 chipset lineup. The fact that Counter-Strike 2 is more demanding in terms of hardware, might have nudged Valve to drop MacOS support, while continuing to support Linux operating systems. MacOS constituted around 1.57% of the CS:GO player base.

Valve's FAQ section for Counter-Strike 2 on Steam

MacOS users have reported that even CS:GO is unplayable on MacOS after the CS2 update. Whether Valve will reintroduce MacOS support is uncertain considering the tone used in their FAQ section addressing the same which states "No. At this time CS2 is not available for Mac."
