Marcos Gaming smash Enigma to book Grand Final spot
After two days of LAN between six of the best teams in the country, we had our top four for the semi-finals of DreamHack Hyderabad 2023. The first semi-final was between Marcos Gaming, who were coming into the semis with a flawless run and up against them was the new roster of Enigma Gaming, making their LAN debut.
The series opener was Marcos' pick of Ancient and after running away with their T side at 9-3, it was a quick wrap up on their CT at 13-4 which saw them draw first blood in the semi-final and it was their captain DEFAULTER leading from the front, calling and hitting the shots at the same time.
Enigma's pick was Mirage and after a blowout on the opening map, SpawN and co. needed to find themselves quickly on the map or not it would be a quick 2-0. Enigma started with the T sided pistol on Mirage and it was a 7-5 lead for them before switching to the CT side. Enigma's CT side started strong, taking both pistols and went 12-8 up but Marcos almost pulled it back to overtime.
Enigma hung on in the very final round of regulation to secure their pick at 13-11 and it was Enigma's captain this time, SpawN, who was top fragging.
Inferno, quite fittingly was the decider as Marcos started on the CT side with the pistol win. Enigma could get the bomb down only twice in the opening half as it was a complete rout, which saw Marcos Gaming take a 12-0 lead.
Marcos turned around a 4v5 to take the second pistol and complete the 13-0 to hand Enigma an embarrassing defeat.
Marcos now await the winner of Firedup Gaming and Revenant Esports from the second semi-final to confirm their DreamHack Hyderabad 2023 Grand Final opponents.
