FaZe advances to semi-final over Cloud9

In the Group A upper bracket final of BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023, we saw Cloud9 take on FaZe Clan.

Starting on Cloud9's pick of Overpass, FaZe kicked off their CT side by winning the opening three rounds. However, with back and forth affair entailing as the first half progressed, Cloud9 ended up securing 5 rounds on their T-side.

Despite a relatively quiet game from H0bbit and Boombl4, Cloud9 narrowly pulled through by a 13-11 margin to secure their map pick.

The BO3 moved to Ancient, FaZe's map pick. The international powerhouse asserted dominant right from the get-go as they established an 8-0 lead to inaugurate their T-side.

While Cloud9 managed to secure two rounds as the half came to an end, FaZe went to the second half with a gigantic 10-2 lead. It continued to be a lop-sided affair, with everyone on FaZe except Twistzz boasting a 1.30+ rating, as FaZe closed out the map by 13-2.

The final map of the series, Anubis saw a close first half. While FaZe got the CT pistol, Cloud9 bounced back on their buy round. However, FaZe remained competitive throughout the half, securing a 7-5 lead to close out their CT side.

Despite the substantial lead, FaZe saw themselves staring down the barrel of elimination at 10-12. However, they bounced back, with crucial kills from Twistzz, and secured overtime.

The overtime consisted of a sequence of 3-0 halves favoring the CT side before FaZe finally posted the first T-round of overtime to secure the series 19-15.
