Here is how you can qualify for the PGL Major 2024
The highly anticipated PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 kicks off on March 24 next year, but the groundwork for this grand event is poised to commence shortly. Exploring the Major's challenging journey, we've outlined the pathway an Asian team follows to earn qualification for this significant event. So, if you're eyeing a chance to step onto one of the most esteemed Counter-Strike platforms, buckle up and savour the journey.
Open Qualifiers
You will first need to register for the Open Qualifiers, which you can do by visiting the designated regional Qualifier page and clicking on the "Sign Up Now" button available on the homepage.
The Open Qualifiers are divided into three regions: Europe, Americas, and Asia. Asian Qualifiers are then further divided into four divisions. All these Qualifiers will have 128 slots and will start on January 8th, 2024. For Indian teams, this is an unmissable opportunity, given that the Rest of Asia Qualifier will be hosted on Indian servers.
Except for the South Africa Qualifier and Rest of Middle East Qualifier, each additional Qualifier independently offers four slots for entry into the Closed Qualifier. The Middle East Qualifier will distribute a total of 4 entry slots to the Closed Qualifier, distributed across various Open Qualifiers within the region. The tournament will follow a single-elimination format with each match being a BO1 except for the Qualifying match which will be BO3.
Closed Qualifier
In a post on X, PGL has revealed that teams will receive invitations to the Closed Qualifiers based on Valve's Regional Standings as of December 18. If you didn't get a direct invite, we hope you made it through the single-elimination hell in the Open Qualifiers.
Now that you are here, the Closed Qualifiers are again divided, into 5 regions. Each region will feature a total of 8 teams, 4 qualifying from the Open Qualifiers while 4 getting direct invites. They are set to commence on January 19th.

This time around, you will have to go through a double-elimination round, with Qualifying and Elimination matches being BO3s while the rest being BO1s.
Asia-Pacific RMR
Congratulations on making it this far, you have now arrived at the final step of the Journey. The Asia Pacific RMR will host a total of 8 teams. At present, each of the 5 Closed Qualifier has one team qualifying for the RMR. The allocation of the remaining 3 slots among regions is yet to be revealed.
Starting on January 26th, your journey takes you to Shanghai, where you'll compete against teams from diverse regions who've qualified. through the Closed Qualifiers To secure your spot at The PGL Major 2024 in Copenhagen, aim for a top 2 finish in a format akin to the Closed Qualifier.
