Ph1NNN: "There's that difference in fundamentals"
In the upper-bracket semi-finals, Gods Reign faced Aurora where the Indian team were sent crashing into the lower bracket after a 0-2 defeat which included a 0-13 in the second map. After the match we got a chance to talk to Gods Reign's star rifler Ph1NNN and here's what he had to say about the match.
Ph1NNN spoke about Aurora's mid-game adjustment after a slow start on Ancient and how Gods Reign found it difficult to keep up with Aurora's fluidity and dynamics in the server.
We had a good start on Ancient and I think they just adapted mid-game, we couldn't counter that and we over-rotated mid-rounds for their fakes which weren't big mistakes but silly ones, which ended up costing us the match.
When asked about Gods Reign's maiden encounter with Aurora on a professional stage, Ph1NNN mentioned that there was a lot of skill difference and how Aurora won the game even though they weren't at their best.
Yeah, there's a lot of skill difference. I don't think they played to their full potential, they put their 10-20% game and still defeated us and it wouldn't have mattered if our roster was playing at their 100%. They are stronger individually and better as team too but I think we could've played better. There's that difference in fundamentals and the level of CS, like if there was any other team, we could've played better.
Talking about their opening game against Garuda Wisnu Voyage, Ph1NNN considered it as a confidence booster and went on to refer to their 13-0 loss on Mirage and when asked about how the team deals with such losses, he stated that every individual had different ways to maintain morale.
