Carnival Gaming, Wasted Potential net big wins at Esportz Premier Series Fourth Edition Western Region Qualifier
The third day's action at the Esportz Premier Series Fourth Edition - Western Region Qualifier saw two games take place with ROG Academy taking on Carnival Gaming while Wasted Potential took on Team Griffins.
The opening game between Carnival Gaming and ROG Academy saw ROG start with a 3-0 lead on their T side on the T side before Rider got Carnival Gaming going with an impactful AWP round on the B site. clouda and SpawN made sure Carnival Gaming left the first half with a lead as the recent Skyesports Showdown 2024 champions started the BO1 with a 8-4 lead. While ROG fought back on their CT half, the experience in Carnival's camp saw them close out the map at 13-10 to lock in an important win.
Team Griffins got the last game of the day underway on Dust2 with the CT pistol and were up 5-0 in no time. Wasted Potential pulled it back to a tied half as Zee made sure his team weren't getting blown out early on. A clinical CT side from Wasted Potential saw them drop just 2 rounds on their defence as they wrapped up Dust2 at 13-8.
Carnival Gaming's win now sets them up for an exciting clash with Victores Sumus in Round 3 while the winner of that game will face Wasted Potential in the next round. For ROG Academy and Team Griffins, both drop to the Lower Bracket and ROG Academy will take on CRESCENT in the Lower Bracket round 2 game and the winner will face Team Griffins in the next round.
