Carnival Gaming clinch Skyesports Showdown title

The Grand Final of the Skysports Showdown 2024 took place between True RIppers and Carnival Gaming. The action began on Dust 2, where True Rippers started by converting the first two rounds on their CT side. Impact frags from SpawN and rider brought Carnival Gaming, as they tied the score at halftime.

Despite the best efforts from Rossi and DayMake, True Rippers were kept at bay from round wins from the outset of their T-side. As a result, Carnival Gaming found its way to Matchpoint flawlessly. While a double entry from Rossi ensured that True Rippers found their first round in the second half, the game ended in the following round, as Carnival clinched a 13-7 victory.

The second map, as willed by True Rippers, brought us to Inferno. Starting on the T-side, True Rippers wasted no time in overpowering Carnival Gaming, finding a 7-2 lead. However, the game turned on its head in the second half as Carnival Gaming found the equalizer at 10-10. In the endgame, however, Carnival's heavyweights, SpawN and clouda, failed to make their mark, culminating in a 10-13 loss for the team.

While people were hoping for an intense conclusion to this neck-to-neck rivalry, the series ended in a lopsided affair. With Ancient as the decider, Carnival Gaming only conceded a single round throughout the first map to secure an 11-1 lead. While they reached matchpoint in the second pistol, they couldn’t close out the series immediately. It took them just a few more rounds of wait, as the game ended with a 13-6 scoreline.

Carnival Gaming took home a prize money of 70k INR, while True Rippers bagged 20k INR. This is also Carnival Gaming's first major title win since entering the CS2 scene earlier this year.
