Liquid conceded their IEM Rio lower-bracket semi-final against FaZe

Twistzz tries to deduce enemy setup based on glove color

Liquid-FaZe game at IEM Rio had it's share of high IQ moments

A couple of days back, Liquid took on FaZe in the lower-bracket semi-final of the ongoing IEM Rio 2024. A two-map affair saw FaZe comfortable take down Liquid and book their lower-bracket final spot but one particular round on the opening map Inferno, seems to have caught the community's eye.

In the fourth round of the map, Liquid were walking into a fully stacked B-site on FaZe's semi-eco. As Twistzz was clearing coffins, he noticed a cosmetic detail about a FaZe player who peeked him. He was heard calling out "It's red gloves! It's not one of the B players." to his team, indicating that the B-side could have extra FaZe personnel which indeed was the case.

After Twistzz called out Frozen's red gloves, Liquid spotted a couple of other players on site and quickly made their way to the other side of the map, where they got the C4 down and secured the round. After Valve added agent skins to Counter-Strike, the professionals made a gentleman's agreement to not use them in officials as they would sometimes give away too much information along with other visibility concerns.
