"Maybe I'll stick with DEFAULTER" - rev3nnnn

True Rippers win AMD GameOn 2024

True Rippers took on Carnival Gaming in a bo5 grand-final at the AMD GameOn 2024 hosted by Skyesports at HICC, Hyderabad. With three maps going to overtime, both teams fought tooth and nail but eventually it was True Rippers who outran Carnival Gaming, taking the title win after wrapping the series 3-1.

True Rippers' recent recruit rev3nnnn spoke to Dust2 India after the game, sharing how the team approached the match and what the transition was like when he shifted from Gods Reign to True Rippers.

You saw how Carnival Gaming surprised everyone yesterday, how did you approach this game and what was your game-plan?

First of all, we didn't have any game-plan and our approach was simple- we just decided to play off of each other's communications without any complicated tactics.

You kept your cool despite Carnival Gaming building up that lead on inferno, what was the talk within?

Our mentality was to not give up no matter how bad the situation was and we just followed that, sure we were getting tilted after losing rounds that we should've won but our main focus was to win this event at any cost and we just channeled that.

When asked about their T-side on Mirage where DEFAULTER would try to play the entry-fragger's role in some rounds, rev3nnnn mentioned that the team usually wouldn't stick to static plays but would just go with the call which usually depended on the positioning at the time.

Not a lot of Mirage on your officials but today we saw that map being played out and there were rounds where DEFAULTER would run in first while Dice played a slower game, was there a role-swap?

There's no static thing that we follow, we just try to adapt and play as per the situation and the enemy. It was just about the calls and positioning.

How are you fitting in with your new team? DEFAULTER had a lot of good things to tell about you yesterday.

Well, it's just that I have a lot of space with this team to move around the map without any hesitation, like rotate early based on my instinct, etc. Yeah, following up on DEFAULTER's comment, I love to switch things up, I'm versatile and I like to play with my enemies so that they hesitate to move around, given the uncertainty of my position.

Speaking about the future of his team, rev3nnnn expressed his uncertainty given how spontaneous things were at the moment but to towards the end he subtly hinted that he hoped to play with this current lineup involving DEFAULTER. rev3nnnn also mentioned that the lineup is currently looking for an org who would provide them with bootcamp facilities.

With this title win under your belt, how does the future look for you guys?

Obviously we're looking for a new home and this lineup we're playing now- we just built it like a few weeks ago. Initially our fifth was Ember but he couldn't join due to health issues and Dice replaced him. We are trying to find an org to play under a banner who gives us bootcamp facilities. I got a call from DEFAULTER asking if I could play with them, to which I agreed. I don't know about the future but maybe I'll stick with DEFAULTER.
