Carnival Gaming end their AMD GameOn 2024 run as the runner-up

An intense bo5 grand-final saw Carnival Gaming take on True Rippers at the AMD GameOn 2024. After trading maps initially, Carnival Gaming eventually fell to True Rippers, conceding the series 1-3. In a short conversation with Dust2 India, Carnival Gaming's IGL Crazy_Gamer shared his insights on the game and the team's future.

N1kace was sitting on 75 frags at the end of the third map, how good was he today?

I think he was really good today, he had to step up his game because the rest of us were not performing that well and personally I think even I wasn't performing like how I performed yesterday. Because of him (N1kace) only we were taking games to overtime or getting close to them so yeah he played really good.

After True Rippers started strong on Inferno, you guys switched things up and looked like an entirely different side for the rest of the half, what did you do differently?

I have played with DEFAULTER for a long time so I know how he thinks but early on they were playing a bit different which caught us off guard and I wasn't exactly sure what they were going for. Once we figured out how they were playing, we knew how to counter them and that worked out really well for us.

Crazy_Gamer spoke about how SpawN would chime in and help out with mid-round calls after the former calls the shots at the beginning of the round. Crazy_Gamer took over as the IGL for the team midway into the tournament.

He (SpawN) was helping a lot! I was calling at the start of the round and mid rounds if SpawN sensed something or had an idea, we'd follow SpawN's play.

When asked about the future of his team and the future of Indian Counter-Strike, Crazy_Gamer pointed out that two of his teammates work regular day jobs and would find it hard to commit full-time towards Counter-Strike but hoped to play under an organisation in the future if everything went well. Speaking about the future of Indian Counter-Strike the veteran IGL emphasised that one team should make it really big and consistently take down other Asian teams.

Diving deeper into Crazy_Gamer's emphasis, he was asked if he could put together (on-paper) a team using players from the Indian Counter-Strike scene and he started right away, with his first pick being Gods Reign's IGL Bhavi for the leadership role.

How does the future look for you guys as a roster?

We hope we get an org but the thing is two of us do a 9-5 job so I don't think we can give all of our time towards the game, I'm not really sure but lets hope for the best.

How does our Counter-Strike scene look for the coming year, given how many orgs have withdrawn from the title this year?

I think we need one team to go really big and they need to take down other Asian teams and once they start beating other Asian teams, foreign orgs also might invest in Indian Counter-Strike. So yeah, one team has to make it big and I hope Gods Reign will make it big.

Following up on that one team making it big, who would you put together on paper?

Haha, so lets go with the roles as well- I think Bhavesh (Bhavi) would be the IGL, he's a really smart guy, rev3nnnn should be the AWPer, he's really good, there was a guy called KillSwitch, he was the best anchor I've ever seen, you could just leave him on the smaller site and rely on him to hold really well, maybe I (Crazy_Gamer) can entry and I would add f1redup as the second anchor.
