CatEvil eliminate SGGT
In the first quarter-final at the MESA Asia Series #2, CatEvil took on SGGT in a bo3 where the first map took us to Nuke. lame and ZinGY with a quick couple of dinks with the glock, opened up the A-site and eventually the pistol round for SGGT on their T-side. SGGT also converted the anti-eco but CatEvil bounced back once the gun rounds began.
A series of back and forth trades saw CatEvil get a slight edge over SGGT towards the end of the half with a 7-5 scoreline. rubeN and Roninbaby wreaked havoc on the CT-side, catching Ts off guard with their dry swings round after round off of which CatEvil closed out Nuke 13-7, dropping just two rounds in the second half.
Going into Mirage, SGGT displayed a dominant T-side. After trading the initial couple of rounds, Haski and Geneka propelled SGGT to a 9-3 half with their 2.25 and 1.56 rating T-side performances with ADRs of 133 and 96 respectively. CatEvil's comeback hopes came crashing down as DeFFeN droppeed back to back multi-kill rounds, taking Mirage away from CatEvil 13-4.
The decider was played out on Dust2 with SGGT opting for a CT-side start after winning the knife round. The game started with a massive USP-4K from Geneka, netting SGGT the initial couple of rounds. Once the gun rounds began, luck clearly favored CatEvil as BZA glocked Haski through a smoke after emptying his AK mag and following up to drop a couple of kills after to level the score at 3-3.
CatEvil swept a 9-3 half in their favor and put up a flawless CT-side to close out Dust2 13-3, eliminating SGGT. The Chinese team have booked a semi-final appearance against ATOX who are yet to drop a map so far in the MESA Asia Series #2.
