MIBR book Shanghai Major Elimination Stage spot
MIBR took on FlyQuest in the 2-2 pool at the Opening Stage of the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major. The first map of the bo3 took us to Nuke where MIBR exercised utmost caution on the T-side, often running down the clock and going for contact plays, catching the Aussies off guard.
After getting off to a 5-0 start, MIBR's T-side was met with resilience from FlyQuest towards the end of the half despite which the Brazilians walked away with an impressive 8-4 lead on the T-side. FlyQuest's late CT-side recovery, gave them a good chance to ride the momentum and close the gap in the second half.
MIBR's CT-side was just as impressive as the Brazilians closed out Nuke 13-4 without dropping a single round in the second half as FlyQuest lacked individually with three of their players sitting on just a single frag throughout their T-side.

After winning the pistol round on the CT-side of Inferno, back to back triple kill rounds from saffee with the MP9 and silenced M4, propelled MIBR to a 3-0 start but FlyQuest answered back, winning out the initial couple of gun rounds, despite which the Aussies suffered a 4-8 disadvantage at half-time.
A masterful T-side from MIBR saw the Brazilian side go 3-0 right out the gate to further deepen FlyQuest's deficit in the score line. FlyQuest's only CT-side round win was followed by a ruthless B-rush from MIBR with exit running down dexter and Vexite to open the site up for MIBR, forcing FlyQuest to save and concede match point.
drop's AK triple kill sealed the deal as MIBR closed out Inferno 13-5, booking their Elimination Stage spot at the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major and crashing FlyQuest out in the Opening Stage. For the third time in Counter-Strike's Major history, three Brazilian teams step into the top 16 phase. For the Australians, it will be heartbreak as they were one BO3 win away from qualifying to the next stage after the opening day, where they impressed with a 2-0 score line but have been reverse swept out of the Major.
