FlyQuest get stomped in IEM Melbourne opener
The home team at IEM Melbourne 2025, FlyQuest faced an uphill task in their opening round, going up against Vitality. Things started badly for the Aussies on their own map pick as Vitality put up a commanding 10-2 lead in the first half.
However, known for it's T-sidedness Anubis was still open to anyone as FlyQuest switched over to the T-side but it was not to be against the likes of Vitality. Ending the match with 16 frags a piece and 2.07 and 1.57 HLTV ratings respectively, ropz and flameZ propelled Vitality to a 13-2 win on Anubis.
The second map took us to Nuke where FlyQuest showed a lot more promise, stealing the anti-eco away from Vitality after they won the pistol on the T-side. These round for round trades went on until 3-3, after which Vitality cracked the code and put up four rounds in a row to get a slight 7-5 edge at halftime.
Putting up four rounds in a row to start the second half, Vitality were well on their way to secure a big win in their opening game. FlyQuest clawed back a couple of rounds towards the end but Vitality still comfortably closed out Nuke 13-8, taking the series 2-0 and sending the home team down to the lower-bracket where they are set to face Virtus.pro.
Vitality now square up against Liquid in the upper semi-final of Group. Liquid put up a 2-1 win against Virtus.pro in their opening game.
