The MongolZ receive praise as they look to create history
The MongolZ continued their unbeaten run at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 as they went 2-0 on the opening day of the Elimination Stage, taking down the likes of G2 and MOUZ.
Following an impressive showing on the opening day at the Elimiation Stage, the Asian team received praise from the Counter-Strike community, with many raving about the performance of bLitz and co.
Counter-Strike legend, s1mple took to X to state that The MongolZ are currently playing like 'Major winners.'
Renowned Indian Counter-Strike caster and analyst Bleh also took to X to point out that The MongolZ going 2-0 on the opening day means that it is the best-ever finish by an Asian team at a CS:GO/CS2 Major. Previously it was TYLOO finishing 12-14th at the FACEIT Major 2018 in London.
After taking down G2 and MOUZ in their opening two BO1s, The MongolZ now are one BO3 win away from becoming the first ever Asian team to make the Playoffs of CS:GO/CS2 Major and they will take on HEROIC tomorrow (13:30 IST) in the Round 3 game in the 2-0 pool, with the winner directly moving to the Playoffs.
