SGGT disqualified from MESA Asia Series
As scheduled, the semi-final of the MESA Asia Series #3 kicked off with SGGT taking on IHC but the event was soon hit by controversy. The first map took us to Dust2 where SGGT narrowly crossed the line in overtime with a 16-13 score line. Geneka did the bulk of the fragging for SGGT, threading the CT-defense consistently.
One small pause later, MESA came back with an announcement, removing SGGT from the playoffs and disqualifying from the tournament. Apparently an incident with Geneka at 15-13 on Dust2, triggered suspicion. After an AK spray, Geneka whips out the Glock and violently locks on to the enemy on site.
Geneka was banned for cheating and the rest of the Russian team were handed a temporary suspension until MESA's investigation runs it's course. In their official statement MESA mentions that Geneka has attracted numerous complaints and cheating allegations. In SGGT's game against Chinggis Warriors yesterday, Geneka single handedly took the game away from the Mongolians with his 120+ ADR performance.
