Gods Reign reverse sweep dreamScape to keep themselves alive in Shanghai
Gods Reign kept themselves alive at the eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 as they eliminated dreamScape following a hard-fought encounter in the Group A elimination match.
The series kicked off on dreamScape's pick of Dust2 which saw Gods Reign start on the backfoot on their CT half. On a map which they don't play a lot, Gods Reign struggled and it was topped by f1redup's nightmare show, as the Indian AWPer ended Dust2 with 0 kills which saw dreamScape lock in a 13-8 win.
On their own pick of Inferno, Ph1NNN and Bhavi led the charge and with f1redup getting into the action a 10-2 defensive half saw Gods Reign run away with a 13-4 win. The decider on Mirage started with a back-and-forth affair which saw a tied opening half before dreamScape picked up momentum following their CT-half pistol win to run away to a 10-6 score. The Indian team though, weren't going down without a fight and with R2B2 and Bhavi coming in with impact, Gods Reign strung seven rounds in a row to secure the win at 13-10 to reverse sweep the series 2-1.
The win keeps Gods Reign alive and they will next face the loser of the Rare Atom vs Chinggis Warrior match while dreamScape head home from Shanghai.
