kaze: "We just didn’t defend well, there’s nothing really to it but we bounced back very quick"
Rare Atom were the favourites coming into the opening game of the eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 and the Chinese team picked up a big win against India's representatives Gods Reign.
The Indian team though managed to put up a fight for a couple of the rounds against one of Asia's best and Rare Atom's kaze had a quick chat with Dust2 India regarding taking on Gods Reign.
You’ve proven yourself in the Asian scene in the RMR a couple of months back and come in as one of the favourites to win the event, does that put a lot of pressure on you guys?
I don’t think so. There are a lot of good Mongolian teams, there’s really good Chinese teams - TYLOO for example is a good opponent for us and there’s ATOX as well, another Mongolian team.
The latter part of the first half and then again the second half towards the end looked shaky for you guys, what happened there?
We just didn’t defend well, there’s nothing really to it. But we bounced back very quick and that’s all that matters.
Let’s say the 2v2 in the second pistol went in Gods Reign’s favour, would that have changed the outcome?
Yes pistol rounds are very important and I think it could’ve been very close if Gods Reign could’ve won that but we managed to close out the 2v2 and then won a lot of rounds around that and carried on.
