Bhavi: "The way he (f1redup) reset and came back with impact, shows that he can play on the big stage"

Bhavi talks after a hard-fought win

Gods Reign came in as the favourites as they took on Singapore's dreamScape but the Indian team was made to sweat it out in the Group A elimination game, having to reverse sweep to keep themselves alive at eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024.

Following their win, Gods Reign's captain, Bhavi spoke about their win over dreamScape and what lies ahead.

What happened on Dust2? Were there too many things going on?

I think the same the thing happened as yesterday. We weren’t at our best and even though we had all the info and knew where they were going, we would give them too much respect and they would just run into site after which it became hard to retake. We took some bad duels as well because of which we lost two or three rounds. And yeah, everyone has a bad day sometimes but even after losing Dust2 we were sure we’d win 2–1.

Fact box

Gods Reign started on the backfoot with a loss on Dust2 but to make matters worse, their AWPer f1redup had a horror show on the opening map - ending Dust2 with 0 kills and an ADR of 0.20.

f1redup redeemed himself on Inferno with crucial picks regularly and locked down mid on the CT-side, how did he reset?

We all went and talked with him and I think it was okay with him. But the way he reset and came back with impact shows that he can play on the big stage.

Nearly fumbled on the last map (Mirage - Gods Reign were 6-10 down), what happened there towards the end?

We just had to switch up what we were doing. Like earlier today, we were all grouping up a lot and then once we started splitting up, things worked out really well for us. We tried picking them off one by one by playing slow and catching them off guard and it paid off.

You’ll be facing Chinggis Warriors or Rare Atom next, what are you looking forward to?

I think Rare Atom will win their game and we’ll have to face them (Chinggis Warriors) but it doesn’t matter because if we have to win a tournament like this we have to beat strong teams so yeah, that’s that.
